Excess fat in the neck can be the result of aging or it can linger after significant weight loss elsewhere in the body regardless of diet and exercise. If you have droopy fat on the neck or experience double chins, neck liposuction may be a less invasive way to contour the area and give you a sleeker, more youthful look as compared to other facial procedures.
of Neck Liposuction
Creates a more youthful, tighter contour to the neck
Gets rid of diet- and exercise-resistant pockets of fat for a smoother look
Results are long-lasting and the procedure is less invasive than a neck lift
For some patients, particularly those who are younger, neck liposuction alone may be enough to create the desired neck contour. For others, combining it with a neck lift could be the most effective way to achieve their cosmetic goals. Dr. Jung will assess you and discuss your needs in order to choose the approach.
Neck liposuction is generally performed under local anesthesia and sedation. Dr. Jung makes small, inconspicuous incisions in the treatment area through which he inserts a thin tube, known as cannula, to suction out the fat. He uses tiny sutures to close up the incisions and then applies bandages and a compression garment.
Pre + Post
You’ll likely experience some swelling and bruising, which should resolve in about seven to 10 days. Cold compresses can help reduce any discomfort and swelling. Most patients are able to return to their normal activities within a week. Dr. Jung may instruct you to wear your compression garment at night for several weeks. While results will be evident right away, once the swelling subsides, they’ll be much more dramatic.
